Three Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be aired from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
